![]() My boyfriend and I spent a week at this hotel and had a perfectly good stay. If you're a real person looking for a real hotel in the heart of Hollywood the Highland Gardens is for you. I'd rather stop at Ralphs, (right around the corner) then pay Ian Schrager or Andre Balaz $25.00 for a drink or cashews. So if you want a night or a week, remember it's not the Ritz, it is what it is. If you want to experience rude staff then stay at a haute hotel for $390.00+ per night and get attitude from a hotel employee who decided since you don't drive a Rolls Royce you're not alive. Cigarette butts in beds?!? Ridiculous! As for the post about rude staff, I think most everywhere staff in hotels are considered rude if they don't respond to you immediately. I've never seen any of the horrific things people post on this site. ![]() I'm tired of listenting to people trash this hotel. Fresh paint, tile floors, new furniture, TV's in everyroom, and better lighting. When I reserve a room I always ask if it one of the remodelled ones. It was definately "old" at one point and needed a remodel. This is a family owned and operated hotel. The owners are Hollywood natives, they have relationships with all the services someone staying from out of town needs, black car, cab, area club and restarant reservations etc. It is a hotel for business people and familys. The hotel is easily accessible from the street. The rooms are big, really big comparatively for any other hotels. I've stayed many times and have seen the likes of Jeffery Jones, Jeff Goldblum, Eddie Murphy, Axel Rose and others. This is a hotel where dreams are born for those who want to be the next big star. This hotel holds much of the history that is Hollywood. ![]() But if you want to stay a week for the cost of one night in the Mondrain or any of the other area Hollywood hotels, have a suite with a kitchen, have one of the most beautiful pools in Hollywood to swim in and sun around, free underground parking, free wired internet (wireless costs 29.99 a month but coverage is almost full reception all over the property) a balcony which gives you a place to sit and relax, smoke, have a drink and unwind at the end of a long day, then the Highland Gardens is a great choice. If you want the Beverly Hills Hotel then make a reservation. If you want the Chateau then stay at the Chateau.
